Elizabeth D. MacGregorPartner
Elizabeth MacGregor manages Lorber Greenfield’s Portland office. She has extensive experience litigating casualty, product liability, and construction defect cases. Elizabeth has tried cases in both federal and state courts. Most recently, she obtained over $1 million from a subcontractor on behalf of her general contractor client in an arbitration proceeding. Elizabeth also recently obtained a defense verdict for her client in a motor vehicle accident case after a five-day jury trial in Multnomah County. She has handled numerous arbitrations and mediations for both construction defect and personal injury matters. Elizabeth frequently participates in panel presentations and educational seminars to provide guidance and analysis to attorneys, insurance carriers, and corporations on issues relating to construction defect and casualty litigation.
Along with maintaining a litigation practice, Elizabeth assists developers, contractors, and small businesses with their transactional needs –drafting and revising construction contracts and assisting with corporate formation. She is a member of the Defense Resource Institute, the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, the Professional Women in Building Council, and the Construction, Product Liability, and Litigation Sections of the Oregon State Bar.
Elizabeth has been practicing law for over 20 years and is actively licensed in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. She graduated with high distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law, one of the country’s top-tier law schools, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Iowa Law Review. Prior to entering private practice, Elizabeth clerked for a justice on the Missouri Supreme Court, for whom she drafted opinions and provided legal research and analysis on key criminal and civil matters.
Elizabeth was born and raised in South Dakota. Prior to attending law school, she graduated from the University of South Dakota and worked as a reporter and editor for regional Midwestern newspapers. She is an avid fly-fisherman, mountain biker, and trail runner.
