L. Benjamin Allen

Ben joined the firm in early 2017 and works in LGP’s Portland office, representing clients in the defense of construction defect and personal injury matters. Ben has extensive experience litigating cases in both state and federal courts. He is actively admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington, and is also admitted in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Ben graduated from Rutgers University Law School in 2006 and completed a year-long clerkship in the Superior Court of New Jersey. He served for over five years as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey, completing dozens of trials on behalf of a wide variety of clients. As a Deputy Attorney General, Ben represented state agencies as small as a dozen people and as large as the New Jersey Department of Corrections, focused primarily on complex civil employment litigation. After returning to the Pacific Northwest in 2013, Ben initially worked in settlement administration, helping claimants navigate the sometimes complex process of participating in a class action settlement, and ensuring that the procedures utilized in administering settlements met the requirements set by the courts.

Originally from Yakima, Washington, Ben is enjoying rediscovering the Pacific Northwest after an extended absence and tries to see as much of it as he can with his wife and their dog.
