Emmett Seltzer is a partner at Lorber, Greenfield & Olsen, LLP and works out of the San Francisco office. Mr. Seltzer’s practice centers on defense of developers and general contractors in complex civil litigation, construction defect, general liability and insurance defense matters. He has handled cases involving various types of construction including high-end custom homes, mixed used developments, commercial, and tract homes. Mr. Seltzer has personally handled two complex construction defect claims through arbitration.

Additionally, Mr. Seltzer also handles personal injury, including construction accidents, and products liability matters. In 2021 Mr. Seltzer prevailed on a motion for summary judgment on a multi-million-dollar claim involving an attack on a subcontractor employee at a construction site arguing that the general contractor did not have liability based on the “Privette” doctrine. Mr. Seltzer also handles general liability matters including premises liability and fire cases.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Seltzer was a teacher in Southern California. He lives in Alameda with his wife, daughter and son. He enjoys cycling, playing guitar, skiing, watching baseball, and cooking.
