Inaugural Women in Construction West Coast Conference

Holly Davies, the Managing Partner of LGP’s Arizona and New Mexico offices, has played a crucial role in organizing the first Women in Construction West Coast Conference, which will take place on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia in Scottsdale, Arizona.

With women making up just 9.6% of the total work force in construction-related industries, and with construction-related jobs accounting for nearly 66% of all jobs in the United States, the first Women in Construction West Coast Conference has been organized to provide women in the construction industry an opportunity to network, learn, educate, share ideas, and to support one another as minorities in this field.

The day-long conference will include presentations by panels of women discussing trends in the construction industry, how (or whether) women’s roles in construction have evolved over the past ten years, how such roles are expected to evolve moving forward, and case studies on current challenging and interesting construction projects on the West Coast. In addition, women female trailblazers in the industry will share their insight, experience and advice.

The conference is scheduled to be an annual event, located in a different West Coast city each year. Please go to the following website for more information, registration and sponsorship opportunities: www.womeninconference.com.
